About us

In 1956, a school headmaster’s son with a penchant for books, K. R Sukumaran Nair, opened a small bookstall under his name. The store's excellence in catering to the needs of readers resulted in the stall gaining much popularity. One time customers often became valued regulars, and the stall was frequented by many eminent personalities as well, including the then Chief Minister of Kerala, EMS Namboodiripad.

Today the Sukumar conglomerate includes Sukumar Book Stall, Sukumar Law Books, and Sukumar Publishing house. This paramount growth wasn’t facile though. Many hassles and setbacks hindered the path of Sukumaran Nair. Yet he endured and managed to leave a significant imprint in the field of Government Publications. His legacy was handed down to his three sons, Santhosh Kumar S, Satheesh S, and Sajeesh Kumar S.

In regards to the sale of Government Law books and the customer services offered in the process, we, at Sukumar Book Stall, are at the forefront.

Our other services include legal translation services for Government institutions and agencies. Compiling and distributing Study guides in Malayalam is another task that has been undertaken by Sukumar Publishing house, through which we aim to aid the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow
